About National Winnie the Pooh Day

National Winnie the Pooh Day is celebrated on January 18th, the birthday of the author A.A. Milne. The adorable, honey-loving bear’s history dates all the way back to 1926, when Milne created a collection of books that follows the adventures of Christopher Robin, a character inspired by his own son, and his lovable friend Winnie the Pooh, based on his son’s teddy bear.

Together with their friends Piglet, Tigger, Eeyore, Kanga, and Roo – all of them based on other toys owned by the author’s son – the characters were featured in a series of much-loved Disney films.

How to Celebrate Winnie the Pooh Day?

You should celebrate this unbearably adorable day with your little one by snuggling up with their favourite Pooh bear soft toy, playing with all the characters on a Winnie the Pooh playgym, eating honey treats, and reading the many magical adventures of Winnie the Pooh and his friends!

Answering Your Winnie the Pooh Questions

As the character has grown in popularity, there has been some natural curiosity and interest around Winnie the Pooh and its friends. We have answered a couple of frequently asked questions so you don’t have to investigate them yourself.

How Do I Create The Perfect Winnie the Pooh Nursery?

Winnie the Pooh themed nurseries have been a popular choice for mummies around the world for a long time. We believe that the adorable characters really add a touch of innocence, happiness, classiness, and simplicity to your little one’s room – and here’s how you can do it:

For a Discrete Winnie the Pooh Themed Nursery

Add small Winnie the Pooh dashes in an otherwise simple and neutral nursery, for example, choose a monochromatic Winnie the Pooh bedding and a couple of adorable Winnie the Pooh soft toys.

For a Mellow Winnie the Pooh Themed Nursery

If you want more Pooh bear on your decoration but aren’t ready to commit to nursery furniture, consider adding the matching Winnie the Pooh sleeping bag to the quilt and bumper set. If you want to see the character’s cute faces more often, the Winnie the Pooh room stickers make any boring wall come to life.

For the Ultimate Winnie the Pooh Themed Nursery

If you are as much of a Winnie the Pooh fan as we are, our complete Winnie the Pooh room set is the perfect nursery furniture to display all your adoration for the character while creating a stylish and fun environment for your little one.

Is Winnie the Pooh a Girl?

A common misconception about Winnie the Pooh is that the character is actually a girl. The main reason behind the confusion is the inspiration for the lovable character – Milne’s son, Christopher, named his teddy bear Winnie, after Winnipeg, a real-life female Canadian black bear who lived at London Zoo.

Despite the female inspiration, Winnie the Pooh is referred to as a “he” in the books and, in the Disney movies, he is voiced by a male actor – so we are pretty sure Winnie the Pooh is a boy. Either way, all we know for certain is that Winnie the Pooh is loved by boys and girls alike – and all little ones would love one of our cuddly Winnie the Pooh toys!
