This Mother’s Day we wanted to give a wonderful new mum or mum-to-be a gift of our own. To choose the lucky mother, we asked our social media audience to nominate a mummy and tell us why they deserve our gift.
In this post, not only will we share the winning submission but we have also compiled some of our favourite entries. Mother’s Day is all about celebrating motherhood and showing some tender love and care to other mums in our lives is the perfect way to do so!
New Mums & First Pregnancies
The first category of submissions that we weren’t too surprised to find was new mums and first pregnancies. We’re all too familiar with the excitement and anxiety of welcoming our first bundle of joy, so these ladies definitely need some recognition.
Pregnancy is hard work – while some mums are lucky to navigate their pregnancy journeys with ease, others are faced with difficult, uncomfortable and often painful quests. From the dreaded morning sickness to pregnancy diabetes, or even having to split your attention and care with other children, these mummies deserve some special attention.
Not only is pregnancy hard work, but there are also mums that continue to work hard on their jobs or studies during and right after their pregnancies. All credit to these multi-tasking superwomen!
We had to put some wonderful daddies on the spotlight, who decided to show some love and gratitude to their significant others on this special occasion. Their loving responses truly brought smiles to our faces!
The last category of submissions and perhaps the most heart-wrenching is miracle pregnancies and long-awaited babies. From failed IVF rounds to pre-existing medical conditions – it is truly heart-breaking when a deserving mummy cannot get pregnant; so when they do, we all share their joy and excitement. We give these mothers and their little ones all our love and best wishes!
The Winning Entry
All mums are winners in our hearts, but unfortunately, there can only be one winner in this competition. The winning submission is another example of a miracle pregnancy, this time from a mummy who has severe endometriosis – the hidden suffering that affects 1 in 10 women of reproductive age in the UK.
Good luck to Fiona’s niece, Emma, who will be welcoming her bundle of joy in 3 weeks – we are sure the little one will love their Clair de Lune Noah Pod!
We thank all the participants for taking their time to nominate a special mum in their lives – it has been a true pleasure reviewing all the lovely submissions.
